Module 3 of 6Lesson 1 of 2~18 min
Sending your first requests in Postman or Bruno
Testing an API yourself changes the quality of your conversations with the engineering team. This lesson takes you from installing an API client to sending your first requests, with variables and environments, then reading the responses. You also see how to do the same from the command line.
Lesson objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to install an API client (Postman or Bruno), create a collection and an environment with variables, send GET and POST requests with headers and a JSON body, and read the response you get.
Topics covered
- Postman
- Bruno
- GET and POST requests
- API client
- curl

How can I check an API's real behavior myself, without writing code?
Lessons in this module
- Sending your first requests in Postman or Bruno (this lesson)
- Turning your requests into a tested collection
What you will learn in this module
This lesson is part of the course Design and test an API integration as a PM
